However, many travelers wonder what could be the Best time to enjoy an African.

The desire to travel to Africa will make you probably want to pack your bags as soon as you start imagining the awesome journey, however, a little planning ahead of time can make your trip better and more magical than ever thought.

The Best time to enjoy an African is a good question to ask and answer before you set off for your trip. The continent covers two hemispheres and climates vary from region to region. However, deciding when to go on an African safari depends on what country you would like to explore and when you would like to take your trip.

Which African country is best for safaris?

Africa at large is an awesome continent to visit. Africa is a link of chains of different countries however most African countries are remarkably perfect destinations for safaris. Choosing the best destination thus becomes so logical and difficult. However, depending on what you’re dreaming to see, different countries have a different favorite time to take on a safari in Africa.

Top African countries to visit – Where to go and when? –  Best time to enjoy an African 

  1. Tanzania

Tanzania can be visited all year round however the best time to enjoy an African safari in Tanzania is during the dry season. The long dry season in Tanzania always commences in June and ends in October and wildlife viewing is best at this time. Between June and July is the best time to spot the second largest terrestrial annual mammal migration on earth, the Great Migration, in the Serengeti.

The wildebeest calving is between late January to February; here you will grab a chance to witness the birth of wildebeest. The southern circuits and the parks in the western circuit are preferably better to visit between June to October and the best weather for an African Safari in Tanzania is between June to October.

Apart from birding which is best done during the wet seasons when large numbers of bird life can be spotted in the country, all other activities including hiking in the mountains, visiting the country’s beaches, and many more offer a great experience during the dry season.

 2. Kenya

just like Tanzania, Kenya can be visited all year round however some months are preferably better than others depending on what you intend to see in the country. June to October is always a dry season in Kenya and all wildlife lovers will find it the best time for wildlife sightings. In Kenya’s Masai Mara, the best time to witness the Great Migration is between July and October; for those in a rush to view the charismatic phenomenon, this is the best time.

The low season in Kenya is always between November to May. The best weather for an African safari to Kenya is during the dry season however wildlife viewing can be done all year round in the country. Bird watching is best done during the low season between November to May and all the other activities are best done during the dry season.

3. Uganda

The Pearl of Africa has a long dry season that starts in August and stops in December. Most activities are best done during this period since wildlife can easily be spotted in their natural habitats. The country’s endangered Mountain Gorillas can be trekked during the dry season. The birding in the country is however best done during the wet season. During the dry season, you will also have remarkable wildlife sightseeing in some of the top National Parks like Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Kidepo Valley National Park among others.

The best weather for planning your African safari to Uganda is between June and July and January to February.

4. Rwanda

Rwanda is located in East Africa a growing tourist destination. The best time to visit Rwanda for your African safari is between June and September, which is also the best time to view wildlife in Rwanda. October to May is preferably the best for chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda, however, the best weather is between June and August.
